Australian Munitions started two new initiatives at the recent SSAA Shot Expo in Sydney, both of which exceeded expectations. We ran a fundraiser for two worthy Australian charities – Soldier On and Legacy – and provided demonstrations on the art of reloading.
We raised nearly $1000, and will pass on every dollar on behalf of Australian Munitions and the hunting and shooting community in Australia. We would like to thank all those who generously donated to help us support Australian soldiers and their families.
Soldier On helps serving and ex-serving men and women who are physically or psychologically affected by their service, enhancing their rehabilitation, connecting them with their community and empowering them to achieve a stable and secure future.
Legacy provides services to families of veterans who have died or given their health during or after their ADF service. Today, Legacy assists over 80,000 widows and 1800 children and dependents with a disability.
Secondly, we ran our first ever Reloading Workshop on the basics of reloading across both days as a way to share our knowledge and answer questions. The crowd consisted of people with varying degrees of experience, but the vast majority had no real exposure to the art of reloading previously, and were interested to learn about the enjoyment and economic benefits of making your own ammunition. We look forward to this becoming a regular feature at the Shot Expo.
